A Winter's Tale |
Rated R, language |
8 This delightful comedy by Kenneth Branagh features a cast of British unknowns playing down-and-out and offbeat actors putting on a production of Hamlet in an unused church at Christmastime. Joan Collins, the only "known" star in the production, plays the agent of the actor who conceived the production and brings it together. Despite all odds and a small turnout for the Christmas eve opening, the play is a success, and of course it changes the lives of everyone in it.
The script sparkles with lines both comic and piercing. This black and white little gem is sure to become a classic.
