History
I was born in the bay area at Stanford University Hospital in Palo Alto. My mother and father met at Shelton College in Cape May, New Jersey. My father, Jon, was teaching freshman English and my mother was one of his students. The two married in Collingswood New Jersey in 1968 and promptly moved to sunny California where Jon had a ministry to students at U.C. Santa Barbara. Christy was born in 1969.
I am the third of three children. My brother Michael Ian and sister Christy An are my two best friends. You can see them on Jon's Home Page linked below. Christy, Jon, and mother Bethann moved to Palo Alto in 1972. Two years later Mike, as we now call him, was born in Redwood City. Finally, I was begat in 1976.
The family moved to San Jose in 1978 to be closer the Saratoga Federated Church which was supporting Dad's ministry. My earliest childhood memories are of our house on McCoy Street and preschool at the church. I attended School in the Campbell Union School District through the third grade. Mom and Dad divorced before I was in the first grade.
I attended fourth grade at two different schools, one called Ponderosa in Sunnyvale (I lived in Sunnyvale too after my mother remarried) and Stipe in south San Jose for the remainder of elementary school. Davis Jr. High and then Oak Grove high school rounded out my secondary schooling.
After dropping out of both DeAnza and Evergreen Jr. Colleges I settled down and began to attend classes at Heald College School of Technology in Milpitas.
After high school I had two very cool gen-x jobs, one at Tower Records and the other at Cafe Leviticus. I currently work at the Home Depot in Milpitas (yes, I am a sellout).
